I note in one passage you state that the medical profession is "poorly fitted" for the free market. I must stick my two cents in there. First, if it is a poor fit for capitalism then it is a horrific fit for socialism. Even the relatively prosperous countries who adopt social medicine have abysmal health care systems, and they get worse every day. Second, a rule of thumb: whenever something is overpriced, poorly run, or of bad quality, look first to where government is involved. our "capitalist" health care system has government meddlers and price fixers climbing up its nose and down its throat with a flashlight. That it is even as affordable and effective as it is can be attributed only to a mix of sheer economic robustness and divine providence.
